A stylish fireworks show of classic jazz. Aalborg, the capital of Northern Jutland, is the hometown of a real old school jazz band. Names from the past such as Gabadela and Sigfreds Fodvarmere live on through East Harbour Jazzband, who also performed a great show at Aarhus Jazz Festival 2016. With a smooth foundation of sousaphone, banjo, and drums, the extroverted and humourous musicians play around with New Orleans jazz classics. Pianist Anders Barfoed used to be part of the now defunct Østjysk Musikforsyning and is a master of ragtime. Together, East Harbour delivers a stylish, clever, and highly entertaining fireworks show of classic jazz.
