A tribute to the holy grail of fusion. Five dedicated and experienced musicians deliver a show that will delight any real Weather Report fan. Towards the end of the 60s and the beginning of the 70s, Miles Davis was the great innovator of rhythmic music. From Miles' many groups, three particularly influential bands emerged: Chick Corea / Return to Forever, Herbie Hancock / Headhunters, and Joe Zawinul & Wayne Shorter with Weather Report. Despite their differences, Weather Report's Zawinul and Shorter created a homogenous repertoire characterised by riveting and energetic rhythms and strong melodic content. Therefore, their music remains relevant and inciting to this stay, and new facets continue to be discovered. This is exactly what The Weather Report Project came to do. The golden age of Weather Report lasted from 1976 to 1983, where bass player Jaco Pastorius joined. The three of them, each a character in his own right, Joe Zawinul, Wayne Shorter and Jaco Pastorius, were like a triangle. Each had his own line. Together, they added another dimension. The album Heavy Weather propelled Weather Report to becoming the first jazz fusion band to reach the same popularity as conventional rockstars. The Weather Report Project's repertoire primarily stems from this golden age. As we all known, The Weather Report has long ceased to exist. However, The Weather Report Project offers a glimpse of a marvellous period – live and full throttle.
