Musical cousin meet-up in the Bispejazz tent. Cousins Christian and Peter Vuust both belong to the Danish jazz elite and will perform as a duo in the Bispejazz tent. For this unique concert experience, they will cover a broad repertoire of old classics and their own material. Tenor saxophonist Christian Vuust has made a solid name for himself on the Danish jazz scene with his sonorous style. He is particularly known for exploring the special 'Nordic sound' and has released 15 records as a bandleader and more than 50 as a sideman. Bass player Peter Vuust is a professor at the University of Aarhus and The Royal Academy of Music Aarhus / Aalborg, in addition to being one of the nation's busiest sidemen. He has been featured on more than 90 records, including with international jazz stars such as Tim Hagans, Mal Waldron, Ted Curson, and Jukkis Uotila, to name a few. He is known for his groovy and attentive backing as well as his melodious solos. He has released five albums as a composer and a bass player. Most recently, the DMA nominated 'September Song' with Peter Vuust Quartet and Veronica Mortensen. Additionally, Peter Vuust is Denmark's leading neuroscientist in music.
