An inspiring meeting of genres and art forms. The House is a festival that takes place in an old, raw workshop, which used to be the smithy of the city's gasworks. Here, a line of musicians will be presented on behalf of their musical ideas and projects, rather than genres. Some performances will be composed and others improvised. The idea is to contribute to a dialogue between genres and art forms, and hopefully inspire each other. This early show will feauture the violinist Kirstine Schneider. Her passion for music has taken her on many amazing trips, including studies in England and New York. On a daily basis, she works a chamber musician and soloist. She has made some great experiences as a soloist with Aarhus Symfoniorkester and Copenhagen Phil, collaborating with great musicians such as Den Danske Strygekvaret and Trio Con Brio, as well as performing in legendary venues such as Carnegie Hall. Kirstine Schneider is inspired by creative and energetic people, the marvellous pieces of music that she works with every day, and her meetings with audience members and musicians. For this concert, Kirstine Schneider will be performing Bach's solopartita in D-minor, a fantastic and deeply religious piece. It consists of five very different movements and ends with the grand and monumental Ciacconna, which is revered by musicians around the world. The raw settings of Spanien 19B put the piece into a more modern context. The House is curated by Cæcilie Balling and Maria Isabel Edlund.
