An inspiring meeting of genres and art forms. The House is a festival that takes place in an old, raw workshop, which used to be the smithy of the city's gasworks. Here, a line of musicians will be presented on behalf of their musical ideas and projects, rather than genres. Some performances will be composed and others improvised. The idea is to contribute to a dialogue between genres and art forms, and hopefully inspire each other. HALVCIRKEL is a Copenhagen-based string quartet and a producer who works with classical music and the sound of the electronic scene. Apart from covering the classical sound, the band also works on innovating the conventional approach to the string quartet. For instance, they implement elements of improv music and free themselves from sheet music and unnecessary set lists. The House is curated by Cæcilie Balling and Maria Isabel Edlund.
