Solid swing dressed in Latin and a bit of blue. True to tradition, there will be jazz at the legendary French Oli Bistro in the heart of Aarhus, owned by the equally famous French chef Olivier Miens. The music will be delivered by an Oli Bistro All-Star team, i.e., experienced Aarhus-based musicians who are friends of the place. This night features the band Laid Back, which consists of former Arosia pianist and long-time Aarhus jazz entrepreneur Mogens 'Mugge' Nielsen, Janus Jørgens on drums, another familiar face in the city, and double bass player Morten Hansen. The trio has invited saxophonist Jens Søndergaard to perform as a guest soloist. Søndergaard has been a prominent figure on the jazz scene for years and has performed with countless acts including swing jazz with Ib Glindemann, gospel with Etta Cameron, and jazz and poetry with Peter Poulsen. They are set to deliver comfortably reclined, swinging jazz, that effortlessly switches between most jazz genres. Enjoy a great summer night with solid swing dressed in Latin and a bit of blue. Have a glass of great imported wine or a cold draft beer in the little French Bistro in the heart of Aarhus. The restaurant serves food until 09.30 pm, reservations are recommended. The bistro will open for non-dining guests at 10.15 pm.
