Melodies meet, interact, and collide. This duo presents a varied program consisting of original compositions and standards from the jazz repertoire. The two musicians have known each other since they started at the Academy in Aarhus. Since then, they have collaborated in different projects in music and theatre. The duo constellation is both inspiring and challenging to them. Melodies meet, interact, and finally collide in the form of a deep conversation between friends. Marco Dania moved to Denmark to study jazz at the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus after graduating in classical saxophone in Italy. This has given him ample opportunities to play different music in plenty of constellations ranging from classical bands, saxophone quartets and jazz trio, to big band and theatre. Simon Eskildsen plays jazz piano with a strong feel for the mechanisms of jazz, both modern and traditional. Additionally, he is an inventive improviser with open ears for other genres. Simon Eskildsen is known for playing in numerous constellations, including his own trio the Aarhus-based afro band AddisAbabaBand and with the German saxophonist Benjamin Himpel.
