Smooth and elegant vocal jazz

Aarhus-based jazz singer Toft-Olsen released a new jazz album in 2018, which celebrates the romanticism of American evergreens.

Accompanied by the excellent pianist Pojken Flensborg, Toft-Olsen will be performing songs from the new album as well as some material from the album Kinky Beat.

The new album is titled Four just as the title track written by Miles Davis with lyrics by Jon Hendricks. The 11 standards featured on the release are carefully selected jazz songs from the Great American Songbook.

'I know and have worked with hundreds of standards and here I have selected some of the very finest. You are never done working with these fantastic melodies and lyrics and once you start playing them you never know where you will end',  says Toft-Olsen.

This concert is part of Lunch Jazz in the Bispejazz tent, where food and refreshments are served during the acts.
