Storytelling free jazz
The experimental vocal and saxophone duo Kovacs & Dyberg performs in the company of the masterful free jazz bass player Asger Thomsen.
Danish / Hungarian Kamilla Kovacs and the Danish / Swedish Mia Dyberg are some of the most interesting young voices on the Danish jazz and improv scenes with their ability to explore jazz, folk music, and daring experiments.
In their duo project, they found a unique language where seeking saxophones and soulful vocals blend together in an expressive and poetic manner. Sometimes raw with a free jazzy energy, other times soft and almost minimalist.
Asger Thomsen is a double bass player and composer in the field of improv music with and without sheet music. He has established himself as a strong improviser in the Copenhagen area and can be heard in many different groups, ranging from alternative pop to free experimental jazz and avant-garde.
Asger Thomsen has toured in Denmark, Poland and the USA, having worked with prominent names such as Kresten Osgood, Kasper Tranberg, Christian Kyhl, Pandelis Karayorgis, and many others.
Kovacs / Dyberg / Thomsen is part of:
