Americana, folk, indie, and jazz

Few bands have received more attention on the Danish jazz sky in the last few years than I Think You’re Awesome.

With their refreshing mix of Americana, folk, indie, and jazz, they have sold out shows throughout the country, been nominated for a DMA Jazz, Won the 2016 Jazzprisen, and have been played extensively on P8 Jazz. The band broke through to the danish jazz consciousness with the live performance at P8 Jazz Alive in DR KoncertHuset in March, 2017.

I Think You’re Awesome tell instrumental tales of soccer, books, youth, love, anxiety, and friendship.

Most recently, the band has been experimenting with a smaller and more intimate set-up, where their tunes have been arranged for bass, cello, saxophone, piano, and vocals. For this concert, I Think You’re Awesome will be performing in this special constellation.

The House is a new festival in Aarhus that takes place in an old, rustical workshop that used to be a smithy in the town’s gasworks. Here, there will be a lineup of musicians who have been featured based on their musical ideas and accomplishments rather than their genre. Some of the tunes will be composed and others improvised. The idea is to allow genres and art forms to inspire each other.
