Offbeat Sound Universe and Genre Mix with Odd Pocket

Odd Pocket is an exciting and exuberant quintet of award-winning young jazz musicians! The vision is to create innovative, explorative, and inspiring original music with an outgoing approach that invites all curious listeners into Odd Pocket's quirky sound universe for a liberating and thoughtful experience. The listener is challenged with quirky rhythms and time signatures while being captured by strong grooves, beautiful melodies, and a playful, present, and dynamic ensemble. Odd Pocket primarily operates in the fusion jazz genre, but combines expressions from many different genres into a colorful cocktail full of energy!

Odd Pocket consists of five up-and-coming musicians who have already made a name for themselves on the Danish and international jazz scenes, including live performances on DR TV and a lot of attention on P8 Jazz with interviews, video sessions, and plays. Notable awards include Odd Pocket's bassist Mads Houe Sørensen as the North Jutland Jazz Artist of the Year 2023 and Odd Pocket's vibraphonist Viktoria Holde Søndergaard as Aarhus Jazz Talent 2022, which also got Odd Pocket mentioned in Jyllandsposten and several local newspapers. In addition, several of the band members have received recognized scholarships, as well as 1st place in Jazzkonkurrencen 2022 (JazzDanmark). 

Back in 2020, Odd Pocket released their debut EP How Time Floats to great acclaim. After a short break with several of the band members studying abroad in Finland, Sweden, and Norway, Odd Pocket is finally reunited and ready to present new exciting music with a unique instrumentation that creates their signature sound!
