Aarhus Jazz Festival gets new daily management

Ilse Vestergaard resigns as head of the Aarhus Jazz Festival's secretariat after 10 years. Therefore the festival's board has hired Marie Norman Nyeng as the new general manager from 1 February. In the future, she will be in charge of the festival secretariat in a collaboration with Gorm Askjær, who has been employed since 2015 and is now appointed artistic director.

The new team will build on the good collaboration with the city's jazz organizers and the development the festival has undergone over the past 10 years, where the secretariat has assumed a more active role in the development of new collaborations and concepts.

During the same period, the festival has grown in both number of concerts and organizers, so that now every year more than 300 concerts from 40-45 organizers are presented throughout Aarhus.
