Jam every night

At the Aarhus Jazz Festival you can join the stage for jam sessions most evenings. Here you can play together with talented musicians at various venues around the city

Jam sessions are a very special part of the Aarhus Jazz Festival. Most of them take place late at night and are a place where all musicians can troop up and go on stage. There is a jam host who keeps the music going and then the stage is otherwise open.

As is our tradition, we have the official festival jam at HeadQuarters next to the Musikhuset every evening at 23. Here, 16-year-old Anton Uhre got Fog last year a very special experience. He had walked for several days gathering the courage to go on stage and play with the skilled and mostly professional musicians. Last year, Anton's great heroes Tower of Power played at the festival, and coincidentally, their singer Mike Jerel walks on stage while Anton sits behind the drum kit.

This year, in addition to the official festival jam at HeadQuarters, there are also jam sessions for Share Improfest in Sydhavnen, at Erling's Jazz and Ølbar, at Tir na NÓg and at Zander's.
