Chromatic canal tour through Jazzland and beyond. Every time somebody utters the words 'chromatic harmonica', a star appears on the night sky of jazz and shines upon the name Toots Thielemans. Toots fused with long career and life with his instrument, became one with his sound, and has guided generations of music lovers in how to reach people's hearts through the small instrument. Both Mathias Heise and Jacob Venndt master other instruments than the chromatic harmonica and, when they are not busy fiddling with it, respectively man the piano and double bass. They bring along Pojken Flensborg and Per Kolling, and create a chromatic tour through the canals of Jazzland. With a full tank of cheerfulness and great anecdotes from Toots' career, audiences can look forward to an amazing musical sightseeing tour. The concert highlights parts of his entire career from the early years at Columbia to his collaboration with Jaco Pastorius and Quincy Jones, as well as Toots' Latin American music period. In other words: a journey through swing, bebop, musette, samba, bossa, and ... pop! Also, pleasant renditions of Toots hits like 'Bluesette', 'Killer Joe', and 'Sophisticated lady', as well as a few tunes written by Heise and Venndt. Mathias Heise is currently one of the hottest musical names and has received some prestigious awards in recent years.
