An inspiring meeting of genres and art forms. The House is a festival that takes place in an old, raw workshop, which used to be the smithy of the city's gasworks. Here, a line of musicians will be presented on behalf of their musical ideas and projects, rather than genres. Some performances will be composed and others improvised. The idea is to contribute to a dialogue between genres and art forms, and hopefully inspire each other. Over the last six years, I Think You're Awesome has left a solid mark on the Danish jazz scene. Their multi-faceted music has sold out shows all over the country and won them awards and nominations, as well as massive air time on P8 Jazz. For the concert at The House, they will be performing a new and intimate constellation of five tunes from their upcoming record that puts mastermind and bass player Jens Mikkel in the front on vocals. The music has been arranged for saxophone, keys, double bass, vocals, and cello, and switches between jazz, folk music, and American songwriter traditions in an organic and intimate performance. The House is curated by Cæcilie Balling and Maria Isabel Edlund.
