The sound of (free)jazz, atonal chamber music, and Swedish songs. Danish-Swedish Lille Ildmaskine explores a slightly untraditional format through compositions and improvises bits on cello, saxophone, and drum kit. The trio has been around since 2013 and their debut albumKleine Welten is set for release in the fall of 2017. The musicians stem from different musical backgrounds and their tunes contain references to both (free)jazz sax trios, atonal chamber music, and Swedish songs. With a common knack for drama, direction, and timing, they play short and clear melodies, improvised bit, and peculiar grooves. All while trying to find a place in their music where they feel well and can open up their own hearts, and hopefully their audiences' as well.
