Danish world musicians in top shape

Tabasco Beat consists of musicians who draw on many years of experience in the Aarhus jazz scene, particularly in the motley genre known as world music.

Tabasco Beat is inspired by music from around the world - although one might say they focus more on 'the warm countries'. Apart from a punk-inspired rendition of a Bulgarian folk song, all the tunes have been composed by Karsten Berger (guitar). The band also consists of Knud Erik Steengaard (violin), Anders Nyløkke Jørgensenbassas), and Svend Eeg (drums).

Together, they create music without asking if others could be inclined to play something similar. Thus, do not expect something familiar or predictable. Instead, open your ears and follow the sound to new places.

Despite the spicy name and the carefree handling of different genres, their music is characterised by a certain degree of harmony and beauty, and is delivered with conviction.

Tabasco Beat delivers a performance that stays in touch with the audience and spice up the music with stories about the tunes.

The band has roots in XINGU, which diligently performed at venues, schools, and institutions during the 80s. Throughout the last few years, Tabasco Beat found its current instrumentation and (top) shape. There was to be music for people who were into bands like Istanbul Express and Bazaar in the previous century as well as young people into roots, polka rave, world jazz, and the like.
