Original fusion of Turkish folk tunes, Nordic folk, and psychedelic rock
Hudna is one of Denmark's biggest names when it comes to groundbreaking creativity and musical innovation in Roots & Hybrid.
The band is based in Aarhus but its members stem from all over the Nordics, Anatolia, the Middle East. With their musical differences in mind, Hudna creates a sound that can best be described as a new interpretation of Turkish folk tunes fused with Nordic folk and psychedelic rock.
Hudna quickly rose to fame with excellent record releases and live shows. Their first single appeared in 2013 and landed them a DMA World. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2014, which led to another DMA World that same year.
In 2017, Hudna released the album Kaynasma, which means inclusion, in line with the band's musical and borderless thinking. In March 2018, Hudna received two awards: a Danish Music Awards Folk 2017 for Best Global Roots Release and Hudna's baglama player and vocalist Orhan Özgür Turen was awarded Best Global Roots Artist of the Year.
