Trio jazz with experience and young talent
Nikolaj Hess is one of the busiest pianists in Denmark as well as abroad. He has recently released Nikolaj Hess Micro Chapters and Nikolaj Hess Rhapsody. With 3xHess' release Music for Mum and Dad, he won a DMA for Jazz Release of the Year in 2014 and wrote the music for Lars Von Trier's movie Melancholia. In terms of both records and gigs, he has been particularly active with Nikolaj Hess Trio, Hessismore, Hess/Skou, and Caroline Henderson, and has performed with artists such as Lee Konitz, Beny Golson, and Etta Cameron throughout the years.
Peter Vuust is a professor at Aarhus University and The Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg, leads the Center for Music in the Brain, and is among the nation's busiest sidemen. He has been featured on more than 90 records with international jazz stars such as Tim Hagans, Mal Waldron, Ted Curson, and Jukkis Uotila. Peter Vuust is known for his groovy and attentive backing as well as his extremely melodious solos. He has released six albums as a composer and bass player, most recently Leaves of Love with Veronica Mortensen (voc), Lars Jansson (p), and Peter Asplund (trp).
19-year-old Mikkel Vuust is among the top talents on the Danish jazz scene. He has already performed with artists such as Jakob Fisher, Uffe Steen, Henrik Gunde, and Hans Esbjerg.
