Late Night Jazz Jam – Lasse Mørck (DK)
Award-winning bass talent at the helm of Late Night Jazz Jam
Double bass player Lasse Mørck has made a name for himself as one of the most prominent bass talents of his generation at home and abroad. For the last few years, he has been busy touring and recording with artists such as Magnus Hjorth, Snorre Kirk, and Jesper Løvdal.
His confident and driven bass swing can be associated with some of the great bass players of jazz history, such as Charles Mingus and Charlie Haden, while it remains clear that Lasse Mørck is finding his sound and place in music.
Last summer, he released his debut album as a bandleader and composer, Imagining Places I've Never Been, with his chord-instrument-less quartet consisting of two horns, double bass, and drums.
His imaginative compositions have brought him to the finals of 'Young Jazz Composer of the Year' no less than three times and landed him the 'Jazznyt Prisen' award in 2017 for the aforementioned album.
