Three young big bands take the stage at Ridehuset

In 2018, Ridehuset Swings is not just the hotspot of Aarhus Jazz Festival, but also the centre of a very special big band event.

Aarhus Jazz Orchestra hosts an international symposium that organises a jazz camp named Scandinavian Big Band Camp for youth big bands from The Netherlands, Latvia, and Denmark.

In total, 60 Danish and international young jazz musicians will get together and perform in different groups during the festival days. The symposium culminates on Saturday in one massive big band concert.

The repertoire for the concert has been composed especially for the occasion by Aarhus Jazz Orchestra composer and trumpet player Jan Lynggard Sørensen.
