PLAY!GROUND LIVE (DK)
Young talents take to the stage
PLAY!GROUND LIVE is the longest running project of Swinging Europe, held in collaboration with Bo Stief.
Every year, a youth talent development band is reunited with new, talented musicians ages 15 to 22.
The musicians are selected by musician and bandleader Bo Stief through open try-outs, which are held in Jutland, Funen and Zealand. His selection criteria are based on creating musical and social balance in the final form of the band.
The musicians meet for the first time during a three-day Band Camp, where they become familiar with each other and study the setlist over the course of a weekend. Afterwards, they are ready to experience the real musician's life 'on the road' with the gifted musician Bo Stief.
During the concerts, the young talents are challenged and allowed to flourish. At times, the tour can be compact and hard work, but there is also room for free improvisation, socialising, and musical games.
The band performs at Aarhus Jazz Festival after numerous concerts all over Scandinavia.
