New and original piano trio sound

Jazz pianist and composer Artur Tuznik grew up in Poland an has lived in Denmark since 2008.

He took got his bachelor's from the music conservatory SDMK in Odense and his Master's and soloist class from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, where he studied under Carsten Dahl and others. He continues his studies with classical piano under professor Niklas Sivelöv at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.

In his newest project, Artur Tuznik presents an entirely new, original piano trio sound with Nils Davidsen on bass and Jakob Høyer on drums.

The album Artur Tuznik Trio (2016) introduces a darker sound inspired by different genres such as impressionism, Scandinavian avant-garde, and Slavic folk music.

Following Artur Tuznik's debut with the Danish record label BlackOut in 2011 with Licak / Tuznik Quintet, he has made a name for himself on the Danish jazz scene through collaborations with notable acts such as Thomas Agergaard, Alex Riel, Jesper Lundgaard, Anders 'AC' Christensen, Tomas Franck, Richard Andersson, Nicolai Munch-Hansen, and Claus Waidtløv.

In recent years, he has been part of several international projects with big names such as Tomasz Stanko, Jeremy Pelt, and Tony Malaby, and has performed at festivals in Europe, USA, and Canada, including at prestigious venues such as the Lincoln Center in NYC.

Artur Tuznik has won awards at a number of renowned international jazz contests in Europe, including B-Jazz Burghausen (DE), Getxo Jazz (ES), Jazz Hoeilaart (BE), and Jazz-Nad-Odra Festival (PL).
