A different service

Once again, the tradition of a jazz service as part of the Aarhus Jazz Festival takes place this year – but this time quite extraordinary in St. Paul's Church. St. Luke Church is closed due to renovation, so this year we have moved to Sct. Paul's Church.

The musicians Pojken Flensborg, Hans Mydtskov and Torben Bjørnskov, who play together in Nordens Tone, and who each also appear as soloists and sidemen in a large number of constellations on recordings and at concerts, provide the musical foundation to a sensuous, evocative and different service where word and music merge into a whole a la Jazz'n'Poetry.

The musicians improvise on songs and hymns that revolve around a theme, and along the way, pastor Vibeke Houmøller reflects on the subject while the musicians play along.
