Dry humor - juicy jazz

River Band is gradually becoming one of the oldest Danish jazz bands with an unbroken lineage dating back to 1973.

Here, in 2019, the group is still among the busiest and most popular Danish bands at clubs and festivals in Scandinavia with its very own sound: a well-groomed cocktail of the best from traditional, swing, blues and Latin, served in the Jutlandic style.

As bandleader Torben Lassen says

- Every time we switched out a musician, we got one that was better.

To which trombonist Allan Bjerregaard drily notes:

- Remind me, how long have you been with us?

Their music is as juicy as their sense of humor is dry, where you constantly find new challenges in well-written arrangments and raw-swinging rhythms.

In 2019, the band made their TV debut in a live recording on the nationwide channel DK4. Who knows where it will end?
