Brazilian saudade and Nordic melancholy

These two elements blend together when an all-star group of Danish and international jazz musicians take to Musikhuset's café scene.

Steen Rasmussen Quinteto has long established itself as one of Denmark's top class musical bids for Brazilian inspired jazz with personal expression, deep familiarity with the genre and some of Denmark's best musicians.

The band's previous albums have been well received and two of them were even nominated for the DMA Jazz and Carl Pris.

In 2018, album number six appeared: Steen Rasmussen Quinteto - CANTA!. The album is a mix of Brazilian saudade and Nordic melancholy and is filled with evocative songs about life, the sun, the stars, the great oceans and love.

The album left reviewers generous with praise, and Steen Rasmusen is again this year nominated for Carl Prisen as jazz composer of the year for CANTA.

Now, the audience can look forward to experiencing the songs from the new album live, when Steen Rasmussen Quinteto, under the headline Canta Live, invites the Brazilian star singers Joyce Moreno and Leo Minax to the stage in Musikhuset.
