Own tunes as well as American and Brazilian hits

Mette Juul is one of the vocal first ladies in Danish jazz right now. With her intimate and personal voice, she interprets both her own songs, the Great American Songbook and songs from Brazil with personality, warmth and nerve.

Mette Juul made her debut in 2010 with the album Coming In From The Dark, where she was backed by strong acts such as drummer Alex Riel, bassist Jesper Lundgaard and pianist Heine Hansen, while Palle Mikkelborg and Poul Halberg were featured on trumpet and guitar respectively.

On her second album, Moon on My Shoulder (2012), she was accompanied by Ambrose Akinmusire (trumpet), Lars Danielsson (bass), Morten Lund (drums) and Nikolaj Hess (piano).

Akinmusire and Danielsson returned on her third and latest album There is a Song (2017), which secured the international proliferation of the music with the Americans Rodney Green (drums), Joe Sanders (bass) and Mike Moreno (guitar).

There is a Song moved Mette Juul more towards the American singer-songwriter tradition and was nominated for the Danish Music Awards Jazz for best vocal release. You can look forward to a concert with a group from the top of Danish jazz.
