Cathrine Legardh – Tribute to Monica Zetterlund (DK)
Cathrine Legardh (voc), Jacob Christoffersen (p), Jesper Thorn (b)
Atmospheric jazz and songs in Swedish
Here is a unique chance to hear the jazz singer Cathrine Legardh in a tribute to the Swedish jazz icon Monica Zetterlund.
Two excellent musicians will be by her side: Jacob Christoffersen (piano) and Jesper Thorn (bass).
You can expect a warm, outgoing and hair-raising concert experience in resonating Swedish language.
The repertoire is a selection of Monica's Zetterlund's many and diverse musical gems - some more well-known than others. The concert thus contains both folk and revue songs as well as jazz standards translated into Swedish by, among others, Beppe Wolgers and Hasse and Tage, Povel Ramel and Olle Adolphson - in addition to songs from the collaboration with Bill Evans.
Cathrine Legardh has toured with great success in Scandinavia - for full venues such as Stadsteatret in Stockholm and Helsinki.
"Legardh sings with style, authority and credibility. Annexing the Monica Zetterlund classic 'Slowly we go through town' and then just making it her own is a great achievement."
