Select songs from jazz history - served child-friendly

The Sejthen / Danielsen Duo is a seasoned jazz team. After playing roughly 300 concerts, weddings, receptions and private shows, as well as being featured in several theatre performances, mostly as standard jazz performers, the duo are now ready with a concert for younger jazz crowd.

Here, you can hear some of the best jazz tunes and maybe a little story about the music along the way.

Thomas Sejthen is known from the bands Indra, Uffe Steen Trio, Admiral Awesome, and others, and is thus one of the finest double bass players in the Danish kingdom.

Jacob Danielsen, who plays saxophones and clarinets, has received Denmark's oldest jazz prize, Gaffelprisen 2017, which is awarded by the Jazzselskabet Aarhus, is known from several Aarhus constellations, and more.

With references to the old familiar standards, Bossanovas, ballads, hymns and children's songs, this concert will be an excerpt of the diverse jazz history.

The intimate collaboration between saxophone and double bass, the simple and yet so varied expression, is the duo's primary specialty.

Children's jazz at Dokk1 is a collaboration between Aarhus Jazz Festival, Dokk1 and Aarhus Music School.
