The young Aarhus-based vocalist and pianist Emil Otto – from Gumbo Ya-Ya!, The Vooo Ca Ray, and others – has now gathered his own NOLA trio with musicians who have been with him right from the start.

Inspired by Jon Cleary, Harry Connick Jr., SP Just Frost and Professor Longhair, the old immortal compositions are performed with an unmissable edge and sharpness.

The drummer Aske Bendixen brings the funk kettle to a boil with second line street beats, swinging shuffle and funky feels.

At the same time, the super crisp bassist Philip Akrofi provides an extremely swampy and hard-swinging foundation.

Mix this with a "croonsome" vocal and sweat-dripping boogie piano, and you know pretty much what's in store for you.
