Let the good times roll...

Is the headline for Barfoed's Jump Band as they play to life and happy days with a mix of jazz, swing and blues.

In the period after World War II, times were tough and the popular big bands became smaller groups. In order to keep the dance floor sizzling, the new combo bands had to turn up the pace, resulting in a new, energetic style known as Jump Blues.

Jump Blues has deep roots in the Mississippi blues, traditional New Orleans jazz, swing and big band jazz.

Barfoed's Jump Band plays authentic Jump Blues classics such as Let The Good Times Roll, Buona Sera, Just A Gigolo, Flip Flop and Fly, Shake Rattle And Roll and Choo Choo Ch`boogie.

Inspired by The King of Jump Blues Louis Jordan, Louis Prima, Big Joe Turner, Count Basie, Ray Charles and Nat King Cole, Barfoed's Jump Band plays with an impressive feeling for the style.

Anders Barfoed is a respected jazz pianist and experienced entertainer who has participated in several theatre performances, musicals, radio, TV and 25 revues with Østjysk Musikforsyning.

Frank Wommelsdorf plays the saxophone and is also known as a big band conductor in jazz circles. Frank has played with many prominent musicians and singers such as Niels Jørgen Steen, Jesper Thilo, Bobo Moreno and Maria Karmen Koppel.

Jan Sandberg, drums and lead vocals, played blues-rock with The Bats along with Henning Kaastrup, guitar and mouth harp during the 80s. For seven years, Sandberg played with the legendary jazz band Wash, and in the 1970s, Kaastrup was particularly active on the Aalborg jazz scene with Brdr. Hot.

Mads Dalum hones for her talent at the conservatory in Aalborg and plays bass with many of the young talents of the Aalborg jazz scene, including jazz singer-songwriter Ginne Marker.

Barfoed's Jumpband will be recording at Dreamland studio during spring 2019, and look forward to presenting their first CD in May 2019.
