Experimental jazz meets modern compositional music

Four members of Århus Sinfonietta explore the meeting between experimental jazz and modern compositional music together with Aarhus Jazz Festival as part of the New Directions series.

At the concert, the audience will experience premieres of two new pieces for trombone, percussion, guitar and piano by Irene Becker and Emil Palme. In addition, works by Julie Kjær, Lil Lacy, Simon Steen-Andersen and Juliana Hodkinson will also be played.

The concert is supported by Augustinusfonden, Knud Højgaards Fond, Danish Arts Foundation's Projektstøtteudvalg for Musik, Dansk Komponist Forenings Produktionspulje, KODA Kultur, Dronning Margrethes og Prins Henriks Fond, and Aarhus Municipality.
