This will be a unique concert with Marc Mommaas from The Netherlands and Peter Vuust, who perform their first concert together.
Marc Mommaas is a highly acclaimed saxophonist on the American jazz scene residing in New York. Marc Mommaas has released six albums since 1999, which all show his stylistic versatility and unique approach to composition and improvisation. Among other things, he has published two duo records with Danish pianist Nikolaj Hess, inspired by both European and American jazz tradition.
Marc Mommaas is known for his highly expressive style of improvisation, which has been described as wordless storytelling.
Peter Vuust is a professor at Aarhus University and the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus/Aalborg, head of the Center for Music in the Brain and, additionally, one of the country's busiest sidemen.
He has been featured on more than 90 records and with international jazz stars such as Tim Hagans, Mal Waldron, Ted Curson and Jukkis Uotila.
Peter Vuust is known for his groovy and responsive backing as well as extremely melodious solos. As a composer and bassist, he has published six albums, most recently Leaves of Love featuring Lars Jansson (p), Veronica Mortensen (voc) and Peter Asplund (trp).
