Modern jazz with many sources of inspiration
Martin Vollertsen and Philip Akrofi is a duo with very closely interconnected musicians, who have played together for many years in various bands, among others. Martin Vollertsens Trio and Kvintet.
Martin Vollertsen draws a lot of inspiration from jazz that moves on the edge of the avant-garde. Musicians like Paul Bley, Keith Jarrett, and Ornette Coleman are great sources of inspiration.
This evening's repertoire will consist of Martin Vollertsen's own compositions. The music is modern jazz, inspired by everything from newer classical music to country.
