Freedom – improvisation – imagination

Fantasilaboratoriet is a new experimental jazz ensemble from the Aarhus underground scene. Aesthetically, the musicians find inspiration in everything from hip hop and trap to classical and indie rock, while freedom and improvisation are core elements of the music.

The band's frontman Niels Munk Petersen (trumpet) has allied himself with some of the country's most interesting jazz musicians, who contribute to the project with their great personalities.

With his tremendous musical understanding, Jens Mikkel Madsen (bass) provides a solid bass foundation, Jonathan Jull Ludvigsen (drums) brings elements of hip hop into contemporary jazz, and Dan Hjorth Jensen (piano) contributes, as always, with his great musical skill.

The architect behind the project is Niels Munk Petersen, who colors the adventurous landscape created by the musicians with lyrical tunes. Together, they enter the "fantasy laboratory" to research fantasy through music.
