A very special duo constellation

For Sommerjazz 2020, Aarhus Jazz Festival presents a concert series with Solo, Duo, Trio, and Quartet in the beautiful interior of Aarhus Cathedral.

At this concert, you can experience a very special duo constellation with two musicians who have each had their own influence on Danish jazz for several decades.

The 2018 DMA Jazz show featured a short and fantastic duo performance with saxophonist Jesper Thilo and drummer Kresten Osgood.

For those who did not get enough back then – and for everyone else – we have the pleasure of being able to present an entire duo concert with the two musicians.

Jesper Thilo has long since entered Danish jazz history and is one of the most prominent European tenor saxophonists in mainstream jazz. He has played in a host of bands and has recorded numerous records since the 1990s. In 1977, he became the first recipient of the prestigious Ben Webster-pris award.

Kresten Osgood is an exceptional drummer and improviser who both respects and challenges jazz tradition. He has been featured on roughly 100 albums and has played with legends such as Paul Bley, Joe Lovano, and Yusef Lateef, and has delighted the audience with significant concerts such as humor, dedication, and raw play since the early 00s.

Thus, a concert of a very special kind has been planned for this afternoon in Aarhus Cathedral.

13 / 7 4.00 pm Solo: Kasper Tranberg + Christian Windfeld, 14 / 7 4.00 pm Duo: Jesper Thilo / Kresten Osgood, 15 / 7 4.00 pm Trio: Come Sunday - Orgeljazz i kirken, 16 / 7 14.00 pm Quartet: Jutlandia Saxophone Quartet.

All concerts in Aarhus Cathedral are conducted according to the regulations of the authorities and with a distance between the audience.
