Young original jazz and selected standards

AjT trio is a new band consisting of three young up-an+coming musicians. The band was formed in Berlin, where all three musicians are based.

Original compositions will be played by all three members as well as selected songs from the standard repertoire.

Thorbjørn Stefansson is a double bass player from Aarhus. In 2017, he left Aarhus to study Jazz at Skurups Folkhögskola. After two years in Sweden, he moved to Berlin to start his bachelor's degree at Jazz-Institut Berlin.

Marius Wankel, born in Heidelberg in 1996, is a Berlin-based drummer. He studied at the University of Music in Würzburg with Bill Elgart and Bastian Jütte. In 2018, he moved to Berlin to continue his studies at Jazz-Institut Berlin. As a drummer, he is involved in several projects in Berlin, Munich, and Leipzig and has played concerts in Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg, and Romania.

Julius Gawlik studies at the Jazz Institute Berlin and won the 2019 JIB-Jazz-Preis. He has played with a myriad of musicians and is a familiar face on the Berlin jazz scene.
