A unique collaboration between the boundary-seeking concert association Sun Ship and Aarhus Artspace

This day, Sun Ship curates an audiovisual exhibition by renowned sound artist Linn Mina Paasche in the glass container at Brobjerg School.

Echolocation is about feeling things at a distance and is a way of orienting oneself. We know this from a number of animals that emit sounds and use reflective echoes to orient themselves in their environment.

This project is part of a one-year collaboration with Maria Puenchir (formerly named Hawkilara K. Axelsen), who is blind. Her work on echolocation and audio navigation turns into a beautiful quest for autonomy, independence, freedom, and security when combined with Linn Mina Paasche's raw audio and video recordings.

The audience will be able to sense and feel Maria Puenchir's delicate exploration in a snow-covered Trondheim last winter. Both visually and audibly when the sound is reflected around the glass container, as well as physically when the sound impulses are transferred to the glass facade.

Linn Mina Paasche (1988) studies art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Trondheim, NTNU. Previously, she studied art at Holbæk Kunsthøjskole as well as photography and VJ at Engelsholm Kunsthøjskole. She holds a master's degree in social work from Aalborg University in Copenhagen and has worked with various media, including video, installation, painting, photo, and live performance, which has been exhibited both at home and abroad.
