Hot Jazz for all Functions
In the early sixties, a bunch of young Aarhus musicians played the hot jazz of the time at the Reeperbahn in Hamburg, in fierce competition with, among others, four other youngsters from Liverpool.
Arosia is still here going on their 62nd year, while The Beatles gave up many years ago.
The desire to deliver "Hot jazz for all Functions" means that we are happy to present the Aarhusian Jazz City Orchestra for Aarhus Sommerjazz 2020 during these unusual times.
Over time, virtually every player has been switched out, but the basic product is still spirited quality jazz under the leadership of trombonist Botha and presented by the always well-prepared master of ceremonies, trumpeter Per Vindum.
A concert with Arosia in the tent at Telefontorvet is probably the closest one can get to reliving the good times in "Boblen" during Aarhus Festuge.
