Famous and beloved tunes from the Middle East

Jerry Musallam and Ramez Khouri play Arabic folk. They both live in Gellerup and represent the local community at our small festival Bazarjazz.

Ramez Khouri is an accomplished oud player. The oud can be called the mother instrument of Arabic music with its deep and warm sound. In Western culture, all musicians have a relationship with the piano. Through the piano, you learn about the structure of the music. In Arabic music, it is the role of the oud.

Jerry Musallam will provide the incisive Arabic rhythms with his darbuka and other percussions.

Together, they will play a number of the well-known and beloved tunes of the Middle East.
