Velvet for the ears

True to tradition, an international jazz star kicks things off in Musikhuset together with Aarhus Jazz Orchestra.

This year, it is the American star Stacey Kent who kicks off Aarhus Jazz Festival in Musikhuset, where she will deliver a unique performance alongside the superb Aarhus jazz orchestra and saxophonist Jim Tomlinson.

Look forward to brand new big band arrangements of Stacey Kent's songs under the direction of conductor Nikolai Bøgelund and, not least, Stacey Kent's soft jazz vocals and the British Jim Tomlinson's saxophone solos.

This is the fifth year in a row that a foreign star sings in the jazz week at Musikhuset. In the past, big names like Caro Emerald, Melody Gardot, Jamie Cullum, and David Sanborn have performed with Aarhus Jazz Orchestra.
