Live Foyn Friis can be experienced several times at Aarhus Jazz Festival. The award-winning Norwegian vocalist sings her way into the hearts of listeners with great technical and musical skill in an unmissable concert experience.

In its review of the album With Strings, Gaffa wrote:

The Norwegian jazz singer ... has studied in Aarhus (and in Tromsø and Stockholm) and plays extensively with Danish musicians. But in reality, she is more of an international artist of a very distinctive international character. Listen to a track like Dementor and you will understand what I mean. The tune, the lyrics, the composition, the vocal approach to it – everything is so original, relevant, subtle – and international.

Friis is based on something that can be called jazz with a Nordic sound. From that starting point, she also ventures into a form of pop music that is not mainstream, but which in some places has a surprising, almost Southeast Asian, chamber music twist. Her musical delivery appears to be inspired by singers such as Ane Brun, Oh Land, and Feist.

For the concert at KP5, Line Foyn Friis will be in good company with the talented and ubiquitous jazz guitarist Morten Haugshøj, who has several critically acclaimed releases behind him – most recently the album The Street Doctor, which garnered several five-star reviews.
