Brazilian star kicks off the jazz festival with Aarhus Jazz Orchestra 

True to tradition, we invite you to a jazz gala at Musikhuset during the Aarhus Jazz Festival. It is always a very special experience when the superb Aarhus Jazz Orchestra takes the stage in the Great Hall at this annual jazz event, along with international stars.

This year, Aarhus Jazz Orchestra presents the newly crowned Grammy winner Eliane Elias.

Eliane Elias is known for her unique way of combining jazz and bossa nova with her Brazilian roots, and she is considered one of the greatest jazz stars alive today.

In April 2022, she received a Grammy for Best Latin Jazz Album of the Year for her latest album Mirror Mirror, which she released with the recently deceased Chick Corea. 

At this year's jazz gala, Aarhus Jazz Orchestra and Eliane Elias will take the audience on a musical journey through her vast back catalog, which includes the two Grammy-winning albums Made in Brazil and Mirror Mirror.

Joining them on stage are bassist Marc Johnsson and the always charismatic conductor Nikolai Bøgelund.
