A night of beats and words 

Kulturkollektivet hosts a night for misunderstood creative geniuses to come together and wonder about their lack of breakthroughs. Poets who claim they deliberately don't want to be published by the big publishing houses, and musicians who don't want to make a hit. It's all wrapped up in a sultry, late-night club atmosphere.

Experience the best of jazz mixed with the best of poetry slam. Sweet music emerges as four seasoned musicians and four seasoned poets come together.

As an added bonus, musicians and poets are subjected to a few hurdles. For example, the poetry-slam rule that a poem can last no more than 3 minutes and 10 seconds will apply to musicians, which can be a challenge in itself. For as was said at last year's event, "You've never heard a good free jazz tune that was less than 8 minutes."

The concrete walls of the Gellerup stage come alive with Hammond organ, wet sax, lazy bass, and groovy beats. Nothing is held back and nothing is sacred. Big topics like love, war, and bargains at Netto will be poetically addressed. Among the poets, you will find the Danish Poetry Slam 2022 champion, a real beat poet, a former Funen champion (in badminton), and the man who invented Brokbar.

Musically, the evening will also be unique. Skilled musicians who have dabbled in genres such as jazz, swing, funk, folk, rock, and everything in between will pamper your ears.

Together, the poets and musicians have over 100 years of experience playing music and throwing words around. Kulturkollektivet serves up a concoction of words and jazz, guaranteeing an evening of laughter, tears, foot-tapping, clapping, and cheering.
