A different kind of service

Once again, we invite you to a jazz service in Skt. Lukas Kirke as part of this year's Aarhus Jazz Festival. Although it is the 13th time, it is always a new experience when words, music, and church space blend into a sensory experience.

Musicians Pojken Flensborg, Hans Mydtskov, and Torben Bjørnskov provide the musical backdrop for an atmospheric and improvised service, where words and music interact with each other and form a whole like Jazz 'n' Poetry.

The musicians improvise on songs and hymns that revolve around a theme. Parish priest Vibeke Houmøller reflects on the subject while the musicians jam along.
