Join in the jazz festival's traditional musical free play

At the jazz festival's nightly jam sessions, Danish and international musicians from near and far come together in new constellations and play music to the delight of both themselves and their audience.

Each night has its own jam host, who will welcome musicians and crowds to join in the musical fun. A competent team of musicians will get the party started. Then the jam starts.

Grab your instrument, or "butter up" your vocals, and join in the musical celebration. A piano, drum kit, guitar and bass amplifiers, and microphones are available on stage.

This evening's host is bassist Thorbjørn Stefansson, who grew up in Aarhus but has been living and studying in Berlin since 2019. After finishing high school and MGK in Aarhus, he went to Sweden and studied Jazz at Skurups Folkhögskola. He then moved to Germany to study at Jazz-Institut Berlin, where he quickly became an integral part of the jazz scene. Since then, Thorbjørn Stefansson has played with several major German and international acts, receiving the JIB Jazz Award for Outstanding Soloist in 2021.
