Young Jazz with Nordic roots

The Paolo de Jesus Sextet is a group of young jazz musicians formed by Paolo de Jesus, a 22-year-old jazz trumpeter and composer from Aalborg, Denmark. Paolo lives in Berlin, where he studies at the renowned JIB, Jazz-Institut Berlin.

The music is original compositions written by Paolo de Jesus himself, based on Nordic influences, but also drawing inspiration from various branches of the jazz genre.

Simple soundscapes, and atmospheric, beautiful, and melancholic melodies fuse with inspiration from the modern jazz sound, creating a truly unique musical experience.

The band includes jazz musicians based in Malmö, Amsterdam, and Berlin, all of whom are now coming together to play at Domen during Aarhus Jazz Festival.
