Modern Minimalism and Nordic Jazz Tradition

Little North has made a name for itself on both the Danish and international jazz scene with its first three albums, and audiences, critics, and musical colleagues are keeping a close eye on them. Now, they play at Musikhuset Swings for a taste of why people all over the world have opened their ears to the small Danish trio. 

The sound is captivatingly cinematic and the intensity of the music is warm and inviting. In a melting pot of modern minimalism and Nordic jazz tradition, and with an intensity that harks back to the New York jazz scene, Little North adds the next exciting chapter in the history of Scandinavian jazz.

The three members are musically open and curious, and their playing style allows each member to explore the musical space between compositions and free improvisation. 

The trio's third release Wide Open emphasizes that the three are in an almost telepathic connection with each other when the music flows freely.
