Young Talent Reinvents Jazz and Makes it Accessible

Jonathan Huber is a true superstar who rose to fame through social media. He has become known and loved for his amazing reharmonization videos of pop tunes and particularly animal sounds.

Does that sound a bit weird? – Not if you ask many of the well-known jazz musicians who have fallen in love with Jonathan and his quirky, inventive, and often ingenious way of thinking about chords and progressions.

He has a unique ability to bend harmonies and progressions in clever and fun ways around things people are familiar with, allowing the listener to hear things in a new light.

Jazz is not dead, and it is young people like Jonathan Huber who help reinvent it and make it accessible to the general public without compromising the art form.

Jonathan Huber graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2020 with a degree in rhythmic piano. During college, he toured several times with Jazz Is Phish. He is now based in Los Angeles and most recently joined Kiefer on his When There's Love Around tour, with Jonathan playing synth.

For this concert, Huber shares the stage with Mark Chemnitz, a graduate of the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Aarhus. He has played, toured, and composed with and for several major artists, including Thomas Buttenschøn, MC Clemens, Dawn Joseph (UK), and his own band Soul Glo. He has taught ensembles at the Academy of Music and has directed the music for several TV shows and recordings. Mark is currently responsible for the music in Front of House.

Mark has a passion for growth team initiatives and as a coach is part of the organization for rhythmic amateur music under KODA, PLEKTOR, and ORA.

This stellar team also includes Nicolaj Lippert on bass and Jens Kristan Dam on drums.
