A Tribute to the Original Jazz

Jazz was born in New Orleans in Congo Square at the end of the 19th century.

Since then, the genre has evolved in a vast network, and most of the rhythmic styles we know today have their roots here.

New Orleans Traditionals pays tribute to this original type of jazz and has also taken the liberty of spicing it up with its own Nordic tone.

The band is led by trumpeter Rasmus Bøgelund, who has played with some of the great bands of New Orleans, such as Rebirth Brass Band, Soul Rebels, and the legendary Tremé Brass Band from the HBO series of the same name.

For many years, he has also been a member of the Klüvers Big Band and later Aarhus Jazz Orchestra.

The other musicians are well-known figures from the Danish and international jazz scenes.

Together, they are a mixture of all the best that Denmark has to offer when it comes to music, celebration, and the colors of New Orleans.
